  • Design following letters according to the given theme—active

  • Choose appropriate colours and finishing

  • Elaborate the reason behind each decision

Reasoning:

I see the word 'active' as the idea of constant movement as it represents the idea of activity due to the need for movement. The idea of active also seems like a casual action. With this in mind, I decided to represent the idea of constant movement using slanted, curved, or blurred lines. To represent the idea of being a casual action, the use of minimalistic lines and sans serif would be appropriate for this keyword.

Idea #1—Outlines of the letters

Idea #2—Slanted Lines

Progress:

Feedback:

  • Create a new form of the letter instead of following the template (Helvetica)

  • Add some curved lines at the end

Final:

I decided to go with the second idea because it represents my idea of 'active' better. The design is able to portray the concept of a casual action and being in constant motion. I used the colours yellow and orange to represent the energy used when being active as these colours exude the feeling of being energized.
