What are the things that you're already familiar with/know?

Video #1:

  • Getting to know clients

  • Collect information

Video #2:

  • Managing and having control over the design and direction

Video #3:

  • Identifying the target audience, the message, and the media used to show the final result

What are the newfound knowledge that you can learn from?

Video #1:

  • The importance of having the 3Ps (people, portfolio, profit) before creating a new logo.

  • Making a creative brief allows the designer to keep track of the details and information of the clients’ business.

  • Using the quick sprint method to generate more ideas based on existing references.

Video #2:

  • An in-person presentation of the product is the ideal way to present the product to the client instead of sending a pdf file without many explanations.

  • It is important to have control over the design and the design direction. The clients are not designers or creative directors, therefore, it is ideal for the designer to be the one in control and manage.

  • It is important to create a logo presentation starting and ending with the logo being placed on a simple plain white background in order for the client to fully absorb the final design of the logo itself.

Video #3:

  • Narrowing the design direction would greatly increase the speed of the workflow, as well as keep the design on track with the keywords and concepts given by the client.

Anything that you want to learn more/apply in you project as graphic designer?

  • From the first video, I would like to apply the ‘quick sprint’ method in the brainstorming stage of any future projects.

  • The second video clearly shows how to create the ideal logo presentation. With that information, I would also like to apply this to any future projects.

  • From the third video, I would like to learn more regarding decoding the ‘coded’ language when identifying the creative parameters.

BONUS: can you share any personal thoughts/experiences as designers that can relate to the video?

After watching all three videos, I realised that there are a lot more skills needed as a graphic designer than just doing research and designing. It is also essential for graphic designers to fully understand how to sell their products or designs.
